For ADC and DAC there are many important parameters like

1) Resolution
2) Reference Voltage
3) Sampling Rate
4) Bandwidth
5) DC Errors
6) Signal to Noise Ratio
7) Effective Number of Bits (ENOB) etc.

Generally, the emphasis is given to only the Resolution Reference Voltage and a Sampling rate of the ADC.
But other parameters are also very important for selecting the ADC for the specific application.
If other parameters are overlooked then one might not get the desired output using the ADC.
